A Quick Guide to Cold Brew: Cold Brew Retail Bag Release

Summer is in full swing and this heat wave has us all wanting something cool and refreshing to start our day. After years of requests from our friends and staff we are happy to finally release our signature cold brew in retail bags.

This is the exact roast and blend of our signature cold brew ready for you to brew at home. A blend of Guatemala and Honduran coffees come together to give you a clean chocolate, nutty body with a crips apple finish.

Ingredients and Equipment:

  • Coarsely ground Ragamuffin Cold Brew Blend coffee
  • Cold water
  • A large jar or pitcher
  • A fine-mesh sieve or strainer (monks cloth will also work)
  • Optional: Paper coffee filters

Steps:

  1. Measure and Combine:

    • Measure the coarsely ground coffee and cold water using a 1:3 ratio.
    • In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coffee grounds and cold water. Stir to ensure all the grounds are fully saturated.
  2. Steep:

    • Cover the jar or pitcher and place it in the refrigerator. Let it steep overnight, or for about 12-18 hours.
  3. Strain:

    • After the steeping period, remove the jar or pitcher from the refrigerator.
    • Using a fine-mesh sieve or strainer, pour the cold brew through it into another container to separate the coffee grounds from the liquid.
  4. Optional - Paper Filter for a Cleaner Cup:

    • For an even cleaner cup of cold brew, you can further filter the coffee through a paper coffee filter. Place the paper filter in a funnel or another strainer and pour the strained cold brew through it into a clean container.
  5. Serve:

    • Your cold brew concentrate is now ready. You can dilute it with water, milk, or a milk alternative to your desired strength before serving. Serve over ice for a refreshing cold coffee.
  6. Storage:

    • Store any remaining cold brew in the refrigerator for up to a week.
